This calm, yet magnificent bay is bordered by two white sand beaches which are protected by coral reef. When the wind picks up however, the windsurfers dot the water everywhere. The town of St. Jean is the tourist centre of the island and is home to five small shopping centres along the main road leading towards Lorient. La Savanne (across from the airport), the fashionable boutiques of Les Galeries du Commerce, La Villa Créole, La Sodexa, and L'Espace Neptune.
