Language
French is the official language; the type spoken by the St. Barths' is a quaint Norman dialect. Most everyone speaks English however, and there is seldom a language problem.

How To Get There
From the U.S., the main gateway is St Maarten ( SXM ) where connections are made to St Barths (SBH) with inter-island carriers who offer many flights daily, it is a 10-minute flight from Juliana Airport by Winair Islands Airways, Air Caraïbes, and St-Barth Commuter.

Other Gateways
San Juan, St. Thomas, Antigua and Guadeloupe. Air St-Thomas or Air Guadeloupe flies from San Juan or St Thomas with an approximately 45 minute flight . St. Barths airport has a short landing strip that now handles nothing larger than 20-seat STOLE aircraft. It is not equipped for night landing. The delightful little terminal has car rental booths, shops, and a popular bar. Across the road is La Savane Commercial Centre, with boutiques, a pharmacy, food market, etc.

Getting Around
The St Barths experience is all about exploring the island, visiting the beaches, browsing the delightful boutiques and dining in the exquisite restaurants . Wherever you stay on the island, we recommend that you rent a car, we can book this for you and you can collect it directly on arrival at the airport. Les Ilets is just a 2 minutes from the airport and the route is very simple! Automatic and Manual Jeeps are available as well as Smart cars and a whole host of others, please let us know your preference.
